Marina Chiaiolella

The beaches of Procida are without doubt its main attraction and the longest and most populated of these is that of Chiaiolella – The Lido. Each summer, Chiaiolella receives more requests than any other parts of Procida from visitors wishing to stay or visit the Island. In fact Chiaiolella’s position offers ideal exposure for holiday makers. The beach is located just around the corner from the Marina and also has the advantage of having no stairs to climb as can be found on other beaches around the Island. Despite Chiaioella’s busy summer tourism it has managed to conserve its character as a fishing village. As is customary on the Island, changes have been allowed to a point however in the main Chiaioella’s character has been maintained. Thiscan be seen by the houses that surround the harbour. They remain the same as they were a hundred years ago. The Hotels are small and can be counted on one hand. This all reveals the image of a quiet and tranquil village. The port accommodates sailing boats and motor boats along with traditional wooden boats which can be used by both the islanders and tourists. The “Yachting Club” of Marina Chiaiolella hosts guests of a more sportive rather than elegant nature. In addition, Chiaiolella offers excellent restaurants overlooking the marina or on the beach itself. Small supermarkets and bars can also be found. From Chiaiolella, both the L1 and L2 bus will take just 10 minutes to reach Marina Grande or other parts of Procida.
